I CRY WITH OMOZUWA

She was ambitious.

She was studious.

She was focus.

She had dreams.

She was our solution.

She was our queen.

She was the future.

She was Nigerian and African.

She was beautiful.

She was happy.

She was twenty-two.

But she died,

Because she was murdered.

Murdered by rape.

Murdered by the devil and his friends.

She was killed, not for her money.

She was killed, not for her treasure.

She was killed, not for a crime.

She was killed because she is soft,

Killed because she is defenceless.

Killed because she is a woman,

A beautiful one.

Not anything of her making.

Omuzuwa!

We are now again hit by a pandemic.

Double jeopardy.

Who have turned us to darkness.

Who blew off the candle.

Black on black,

Wail, all that hurts.

Curse be those behind.

She had kings and queens, never had.

Dreams, that didn't materialise.

Light, that didn't shine.

Destiny, truncated.

Leader, never led.

My inner heart hurts for pains,

My ribs swell in wails,

I hold up an unlit candle in mourning,

Unlit, for our light is gone.

Behold, the future departs from us.

Without her, there's not life.

Protect her.

Fight for her.

Honour her.

Get them!

Stop this forever!

End this.

I cry with Omozuwa.

All earth cry.
