LACK OF KNOWLEDGE, A TIME BOMB THAT MUST BE DEFUSED IN NIGERIA.

Hello great and wonderful readers and followers of Tomorrow Leaders' Forum Blog. Words can't express how much I love you and appreciate the publicity you gave to my previous blog, MY VOICE FOR 2015: LET'S MAKE IT OUR VOICE. I want to publicly announce that it attracted a huge number of Twitter followers and a plethora of Facebook LIKES on our fan page and all is because you rebroadcasted it on your BlackBerry Messengers, shared it on Facebook, Re-tweeted and even followed me over there on Twitter

I also appreciate you all prominent Nigerians who read, followed me and even re-tweeted that blog in the likes of Alibaba (The King of comedy), Teju Babyface, Nkiru Sylvanus, NGOs, Youth Empowerment Forums and you also, just to mention a few.

You made me feel fulfilled, inspired and motivated to keep doing what am doing.

The issue of knowledge and its negligence bothers me and I believe many other great minds in Nigeria and beyond too are with me. In our daily conversations, if you are attentive enough, you would notice that a good number of people mostly youths are not conversant with the going-on in their country as they are of latest social networks, movies, bars, clubs and fast food eateries gracing the roads of our beautiful country.

It breaks my heart also to know that most of us don't even know the headlines of national news let alone the details.

A university student recently called me and started to talk about the much anticipated calling off of the ASUU strike. Without even asking, she went on to discuss what she was convinced was the reason for embarking on the strike and her version of the story was nowhere near what was nearly every national newspaper's story for weeks and running into months. Now and right there in my silence I knew something was wrong which must be corrected in our nation and continent immediately, if we truly want the change that we pray for.

My people perish for lack of knowledge is a powerful line from the Bible and we must address this issue if we are concerned about our development, future, progress and revolution as a country.

Every Nigerian expects a change but that change is impossible without adequately equipping ourselves with the right kind of knowledge. That includes knowledge about our nation's politics, economy, education, policies, religion, health, power sector and so on.

KNOWLEDGE is the fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association
                                                        ....Merriam Webster Dictionary

From this explanation, I want to boldly put this in print;

YOU CANNOT CHANGE WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW

How can you Change an educational system you don't know if it is bad or not.

How can you bring about a better Nigeria you don't even see anything wrong
with.

It drags us back to the truth that IF YOU ARE NOT INFORMED (Don't Know) YOU ARE DEFORMED. I want to call you out from deformity into the light where you are abreast with the happenings in your nation.

While I thought Facebook, BBM, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and other social networks will be a source of On-the-go information round the clock and a mobile e-book on all topics for our youths to emerge first class scholars in our learning institutes and also a source of news, it has become a major distraction.

Myles Munroe of blessed memory rightly said ''When the use of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable''.

Most people on these popular and large social networks would prefer to ping, Whatsapp and chat all day rather than read a news on the mobile sites of our national newspapers for at least a few minute. I raise the alarm that something is wrong. We must change our attitude or the evil doers in our politics, economy, religion, edu-sector, power sector, etc will succeed in crumbling what is left of our country.

We can change our nation for good if we equip ourselves with knowledge. I want you to know that UNTIL YOU CHANGE NOTHING CHANGES and remember YOU MUST BECOME THE CHANGE THAT YOU WANT TO SEE.

Please rebroadcast this, share it on Facebook and Re-tweet this until everyone reads this.
