Nigeria feels tense. Armed violence, gender battles, tribal tension, religious divides—conflict is everywhere.
But let’s be real: politicians created these wars. They profit from division. While we quarrel, they consolidate power. While we fight each other, they escape scrutiny.
What Nigerians Truly Want
We don’t ask for much:
- Safety
- Opportunity
- A nation that works
Yet leaders drag their feet while lives are lost. Compare this to the swift response of U.S. law enforcement to assassination attempts. Why can’t Nigeria act fast to protect its citizens?
A Global Village
Technology collapses borders.
- A farmer in Borno can watch U.S. elections live.
- A student in Lagos can take online classes from London.
- A trader in Kaduna can sell products to New York.
So Nigerians from any corner sees what is obtainable elsewhere and desire working systems in those places.
To the Youth: Choose Peace
Never choose chaos. Never follow the Nepal way. Peace is the only path forward.
Beyond Tribe
I am Annang, from Akwa Ibom. I grew up in Lagos. My closest friends are Yorubas. They gave me shelter and friendship.
Tribalism divides us. Character matters more than ancestry; unity matters more than identity. As Amnesty International shows, tribalism is often used politically to distract from real problems.
Politics with Respect
I will vote Mr Peter Obi. But respecting him doesn’t mean disrespecting Mr Tinubu or others. No one is guilty until proven by a court. If the U.S. hides documents that disqualify someone, “[the land of freedom](https://www.gao.gov/)” has failed its own values.
Innovation, Not Hate
India embraced technology and now leads globally. The World Bank notes Nigeria has the same youth potential—yet tribal fights waste energy.
Remember:
- Hate has never built an app.
- Hate has never raised a nation.
Patricia, Paystack, Flutterwave rose on innovation, not tribe. Innovation comes from love—the desire to make life better.
Family, Faith, and Responsibility
If I vote Peter Obi and you vote someone else, we remain family and friends—if we once were. But our words matter. The Charlie Kirk shooter case shows rhetoric can shape tragedy.
As the United Nations reminds us, peace begins with our daily words and actions. Strong nations are built on strong families, disciplined by love, not fear.
Religious leaders: stand firm and support the candidate you believe God anointed. Nigeria needs courage, not timidity.
A Message for the World
This is not just Nigeria’s fight. To the U.S., U.K., the Middle East, and every warring nation: your enemy is not your neighbor. It’s poverty, bad governance, and distraction. As UNDP Nigeria notes, peace is a prerequisite for development.
Cease Fire 🌍
Nigeria, cease fire. America, cease fire. The Middle East, cease fire. World, cease fire.
Choose peace. Unity. Innovation. Humanity.
We are not Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Annang, American, or British. We are human. And humanity is the only tribe worth fighting for.
