OUR OVERBLOWN MISCONCEPTION OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY.

Google
President Joe Biden, President of USA.

Good morning readers across the world.

It's a great honour to get your attention every time.

As you know, I'm a very proud Nigerian.

It is my intention to reach the most of Africa with this article and those across the world who do not involve in politics but might just want to unravel the vocabulary, "the international community".

It is also my desire that this reaches the young, energetic and vibrant Nigerians who are new to realities of politics and the modus operandi of the international community.

Your awakening to the matters of your own country, and your willingness to play your legitimate roles to build a great nation, is a big win for the whole of Africa.

These bustling Nigerian youth population are indeed the true giants of Africa.

Courageous and determined.

Think of the waves they're making in Agric, technology, academics, medicine, culinary, science and other creative enterprises worldwide.

However, It is my perception that most Africans see the International community as a superhero in the class of Superman, Batman or Spiderman, that can fly in and change situations in Africa for Africans magically.

Well, that's a serious misconception.

The international community is a distant family of nations, with unconditional respect for the  existence, integrity and laws of other sovereign territories, nations or States.

In developments in Nigeria, most supporters of the Labour Party's candidate, Mr Peter Obi, have expressed shock over the United States of America's goodwill call to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom his two closest rivals are contesting his victory in court.

President Joe Biden's plan to send delegates to the May 29 Inauguration ceremony of Asiwaju has received backlash by supporters of the oppositions, citing that the US should have hold that for much later when the court announces the proven winner.

In international relations, each nation is seen as a sovereign independent nation.

This means, they reserve the power to exercise their constitutional rights within their territory without any external intrusion.

They respect each others boundaries and territories.

Issues within those territories becomes family matter, where in Nigerian pidgin English, a cliche exist saying, "Family matter, them no dey put mouth", in conventional English that means, "Family matters require no external intrusion"

Here is how the international community sees the Nigerian situation.

The Independent National Electoral Commision, INEC, is by law an independent body saddled with the responsibility to conduct and manage elections by and for the Nigerian state.

A smaller law under the larger law.

Whatever INEC announces as result, FOLLOWING its guidelines signed into law is final, EXCEPT a law court overturns it.

INEC has announced Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as winner of the February 25, 2023 elections.

From that moment he becomes President-elect.

This is what it is in the eyes of the international community .

It is not within their jurisdiction to contest election results of any sovereign nation.

However, they can make observations as they did in the presidential and governorship elections, where they admitted irregularities.

They may not be satisfied at the outcome of the election, but they can't come to your house to fix it.

That's your job as a citizen.

Again, democratically, when the outcome of an election is questionable and unacceptable by contestants, the aggrieved parties must approach the court to challenge such outcome.

The international community at the moment recognizes Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the president-elect and if it stays that way till May 29, he must be sworn in.

Emotions aside.

I totally understand the fear of most Nigerians, the distrust for the judiciary system.

That notwithstanding.

The international community sees both INEC and the court as the deliverer of the people's will.

So no, the United States have done no wrong in their interactions with Mr Tinubu.

INEC declared him and the court has not ruled otherwise.

It's our responsibility to demand justice and a revamp of our electoral and justice system to meet up global standards so we don't have to worry about robbery of justice.

That is not the duty of the international community who themselves are obsessed with their own internal problems.

Ukraine and Sudan are equally members of the international community, but they'd have to fight their wars themselves.

They'd be the ones to fight and die for what they believe until resolutions are reached.

The international community cannot fight in the battle, it defies territorial integrity.

They are only allowed to give aids in cash or kind and show solidarity by ways of sanctions to sides they adjudge guilty.

That's the limit.

The stability of any nation, especially that of Africa's giant Nigeria is not only important to Nigerians and Africa alone but to the international community as well, and they maintain serious caution not to foster any instability.

Be reminded that Nigeria is the largest market in Africa and everyone wants to trade here, something that'd be impossible in the case of any instability.

Nigeria's peace is global peace.

The international community can mount certain amount of pressure to induce actions, like visa ban, trade implications and other sanctions, but they'd not choose a president for any nation.

That's for each nation to resolve.

Until that resolution, they take as final, INEC's declarations.

Here is my 5 cent to Nigerians, lets be patient and lets move on.

And to the judiciary, do the utmost and convincing right, as the Almighty God would.

As true patriots, no difference must target our united diversity.

We must be cautious in our utterances and expression of our dissatisfactions.

Where we disagree, it must be for good reasons without any stereotypical inclinations.

In the words of Senator Godswill Akpabio and former governor of my state, Akwa Ibom, "sometimes what is morally right may not be politically expedient, and what is politically right may not be morally expedient"

As in DEATH, we must helplessly admit that POWER comes from GOD and we must therefore submit to the constituted Authority of the day, whether it is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC), or His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or His Excellency Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) at the end of the court proceedings.

If the court decides contrary to what INEC declared, the international community will adjust according to the navigation of our court and the rightful leader would be crowned.

Until then, these great men who contested the elections have done noble and should be honoured by Nigerians for their courage to lay down their reputations and lives to desire to serve Nigeria and Nigerians.

We must accord them godly respect and references.

Their supporters should be applauded for their loyalty, courage and sacrifices.

As brothers, we must move forward together and join hands to build an admirable nation for ourselves and generations unborn.

Glory to Nigeria 🇳🇬
