RENEW HOPE NIGERIA 🇳🇬
Nigeria is home to the largest number of Black people in the world. It sits beautifully in one of nature’s most curated environments. Beneath this land lie huge deposits of mineral wealth; above, live the most talented, energetic, innovative, creative and intelligent humans on earth.
We are a people capable of the impossible.
Our capabilities as a people are largely untapped, revealing a huge deposit of unexplored potentials.
Blessedly diverse, we are naturally hospitable and accommodating — living together in faith of the reality of a great future we all see in our minds — children inclusive.
Clearly, the future is ours.
But more sacrifices, dedication, commitment, trust, hope, faith and patriotism must eternally go in.
There is no argument that currently we fall below our true glory, but there is also no way we will remain this way forever.
Change is the only constant.
As such, everyone has a responsibility daily, in whatever niche sphere we find ourselves.
We are an estimated 230 million gifted people — tell me, what tides we cannot calm.
From this, a Nigeria that stands shoulder by shoulder in economy, infrastructure and general achievements with developed countries is not in hope, it is in progress.
Dear Nigerian 🇳🇬 youth:
A good Nigeria will not materialize when you cripple economies, destroy infrastructure, or thwart democracy.
No.
Those who preach that do so with manipulative intentions — to use you to achieve their selfish aims.
Times have changed.
Do not allow any influencer, activist, or politician to tell you otherwise.
We have a democracy — the best kind of government practiced in successful countries globally — and we have a duty to safeguard it.
In this kind of government, the only legitimate way to change a regime is by elections.
To be clear: elections are the only avenue to change and replace government.
This underscores how dangerous it is not to vote in every election.
And when your vote seems not to count, continue voting until it does.
Hope keeps alive.
And faith in a thing attracts investment in its direction.
For 65 years, we have faced diverse challenges, but we have shown resilience — and however incremental, we have made progress.
I call on youth to be more conscious, politically aware, and involved.
Come off TikTok, Facebook, Instagram for a while. Go on Vanguard, Punch, Channels, Arise News, TVC — read, watch, listen. Be informed about Nigeria.
It is sad that many of us remain unaware of verified happenings within Nigeria, negatively affecting our knowledge of the country — caught up in images sold by half-baked influencers, activists, and selfish politicians.
Take time. Read.
Get your information from multiple reliable sources.
Not just from influencers.
Not just from activists.
Not just from politicians.
I always recommend watching or listening to a full news round — about 30 minutes — in the morning before you go out, and at night before sleep. Compare information. Be reminded we’re in the fake news era. Even reliable sources sometimes err.
In Nigeria's pidgin or broken English: no be everything wey you hear for Big Channel be true — and no be everything wey influencer or activist talk be gospel.
This will form an independent image of the country in your own mind; it will inform your decisions and guide your actions.
Every successful nation was built by men and women who laid down their lives, through decades and centuries, with courage and consistency.
Youth, like the young men of the Jews who, from all corners of the world, returned home upon the creation of the Jewish nation of Israel 🇮🇱 — believing in a future of a brand new state, starting from scratch, over great nations where they’d lived for decades.
Support the country.
Support the current administration while its tenure is valid — the government of His Excellency, the sixteenth President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
I am known to be “Obidient” because of my admiration for Mr. Peter Gregory Obi — his person and achievements.
Yes — Mr. Obi may return to the ballot in 2027. But even now, I must work — even through this blog — to make my voice heard in constructive criticism, and to hold government accountable to the people.
It is foolish to fold our arms and watch a house we built on the blood of our heroes crumble because of a temporary occupant.
Wishing failure and hardship upon Nigeria just to justify a leader’s incompetence — while that leader still holds constitutional tenure — is choosing poverty for the period.
Saying despicable things about Nigeria is part of the reason for our hardship, aside from leadership decay.
From the Bible: “we shall have what we say.”
We cannot get from Nigeria more than we give to her — each of us.
A great Nigeria will not start from Aso Rock.
It will start in homes, families, and in the values we promote across the nation.
If we teach children right, they grow with high values and great character — and when they become leaders, they will reflect those values in institutions and governance.
Nigeria has a future — one that is bright and fair.
If we continue together in hope, our living conditions will improve, and security will get better.
If we join hands, as people in faith, the world will come to us in respect.
We are not a small people; we are a special breed, and the world is waiting for the manifestation of a greater and prosperous Nigeria.
Nigeria can be good, and it will be good, and it must be good.
We are like Abraham — who, against hope, believed in hope.
Those who terrorize us — terrorize us no more.
Those who loot us — loot us no more.
Those in media spreading fake news — change your ways.
Those who accept money to vote against conscience, disrupt elections — repent.
Those who take bribes in offices to award contracts — turn from your evil ways.
The hope of a great Nigeria lies in all of us, so also its manifestation.
I call on all true believers and brave fighters for a great Nigeria to, with understanding and honesty, say with me:
I pledge to Nigeria 🇳🇬 my country.
To be faithful, loyal and honest.
To serve Nigeria with all my strength.
To defend her unity.
And uphold her honour and glory.
So help me God.
Happy 65 Nigeria.
God bless Nigeria. God bless Africa. And God bring peace to Israel 🇮🇱, Gaza, Palestine, Ukraine, Libya 🇱🇾, Yemen 🇾🇪, and all nations of the earth.
